In the past few months or so... the White House, an event management club own by students for students of the ADP/UIU department has gone through a DOWN TIME, reelecting and removing old and new members alike. We are sorry that the board has not been updated since January 1st...

We are sorry to say that the CLUB is going through a recruitment process and will be back at the END OF MAY, 2010, but with a newer BOARD of COMMITEE which will be confirmed again.

Members (who are followers) on the 28th of MAY 2010, there will be an AGM meeting which will require all the commitee members to be present on the 28th of MAY 2010. Location of the meeting is currently at SEGi University College, Kota Damansara. It will be confimed via SMS through your leaders.

However we can assure you that there will be events going on again and our ACOUSTICA POOLSIDE PARTY is back on. Watch out for it!! *^^*

First of all, i would want to thank all my members (in various departments) in The White House Committee for making the effort (sleepless days for 4 days before the event. i love stress) in helping out with the decoration. Decoration work is pretty fun right, right? =p Bringing back your creative instincts from the HeyDays of high school... Of course, NOT to forget the The House of Fayette members who enlisted themselves for voluntary work in helping decorations -- <3>

secondly, there was no issues when getting everyone to worked on the decorations, and everyone was happy (i hope) that the event turn out to be a very successful one. the crowd was a wonderful bunch of people and it was indeed THE NEXT BEST EVENT for the calendar year of 2009 for The White House. It was everyone's effort to make this event come true. THANK YOU! (the first event was the "ACOUSTICA" POOL PARTY which turned out to be a blast for everyone!)

THANK YOU EVERYONE for kicking my arse and your own (*^-^*) for helping out on decorations. I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH that you are all my comrades in action. but this would be my last major event as i won't be in The White House for long because i will be graduating (Don't you DARE JINX it!!!) next year. I really really appreciate everyone for being active in their post as members and leaders, but i'm not to keen on those who M.I.A often and NA.TO alot... get it?. (getting all emo emo now.... uuuu)

Eventhough, this year has is my first year at SEGi UC, I havent had such commited members such as members of The White House. I thank you all for everything that you ALL have done. HAHAHAHA. thank you all.

The WHITE HOUSE HALLOWEEN ROXXoooRRR!!!

The Halloween party dubbed the ‘Gypsy Circus’ at SEGi University College really lived up to the words ‘Halloween’ and ‘Party’. Gypsy Circus was organized by members of White House club and was open to students studying the American Degree Program with Upper Iowa University, USA as well as other interested SEGians.

The sponsorship team was extremely enterprising and resourceful, resulting in an impressive long list of sponsors. They managed to ring in financial support from Talent Hub, Celcom, Youth Asia, Powered by TM, Concorde Hotel, DR Holdings, Big Apple, Chocolate Malaysia and some private donors.Thanks to this team of persistent sponsor-hunters, the organizers were able to fund the decorations, audio-visual system and other costs
needed. Gypsy Circus organizers did an amazing job giving the AGM and its entrance the real feel of Halloween, complete with skeletons hanging from the ceiling, cobweb doorway, Phantom of the Opera bouncers and the works.

They had spotlights and colourful revolving disco lights that gave the room a club-like ambience. The seats and stage set-up were cleverly arranged, and guests could buy food and refreshments at the same time. Without the performers and guests, though, the night wouldn’t have been such a huge success either. Gypsy Circus organizers made sure they had the best performances for their guests. Prior to the event, they conducted auditions and short-listed 8 of the best.

The night began with sexy belly dancers Amanda and Sue (White House members) followed by talented rappers Vishnu and Vishal who are Mass Communication students. Next up were an upbeat dance performance by Talent Hub and a number by a band of musicians from ADP and Mass Communication. Then, Dance Dance Revolution and the Lollipoppers rocked the floor with their moves. For comic relief there was the Pussy Cat Balls (PCB) consisting of a group of very sporting and brave guys who cross-dressed and grooved to the music. Lastly, local artistes Joanna & Co. ended the night with a bang. The guests lived up to the theme, looking pretty convincing too. Some came as witches, the Reaper, she-devils, Michael Jackson, zombies and anything as far as the imagination can stretch.“This year’s Halloween party is a greater success than last year’s. We learned from last year’s experience and perfected the event this year. Thanks to all my White House committee members" says a fellow White House Committee member.

Brief Explanation: The rules are like so, who ever can beat the King in the 3 different games wins! Each game is marked at 3 WINs, STAYS. LOSE 3 TIMES, Too BAD.
Admission: RM5 (register), RM3 (re-challenge the KING)

Michael Jackson: The Legend. We love you

So, as many of you may know (or not), we had the MJ Tribute on that wonderful evening of July 24th. And I'm sure, those of you, who were unable to attend due to unforseen reasons (broken leg, perhaps, after many moonwalk attempts?), are simply DYING to know how it went. Yes? No? Well, fret not, I shall be the bearer of great tidings of this exciting and eventful evening. Whether you want to know or not, I simply don't care because I'm gonna write whatever I want and you can't stop me *evil smile* (well, except for Ms Vice President).

Anyhooooooo, let's start shall we. Where to begin? Oh yeah!

IT's close to 5.30 and someone's lurking on the stage

Under the twilight, you see a sight that brings tears to your eyes

You try to scream, but excitement takes the sound before you make it

You start to freeze as happiness looks you right between the eyes

Coz it is Hakim, Hakim's dance

And no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike
You know it's Hakim, Hakim's dance
You're fighting to keep your laugh inside as Hakim dances tonight!!!

Ok then, so you know one thing that took place that night, and yes, Hakim did indeed dance. For those poor lost souls, who don't know Hakim, he's a member of the White House that can dance, surprisingly well. And he wasn't the only one who did dance. More on that later ;)

Back to the original plotline I swore to stick by while writing this (which I completely failed), I was suppose to start with something like this:

This event, the brainchild of the White House, successfully took place at the Dictator's Stage in Segi University College, Kota Damansara. As do with all Malaysian events, people arrived much later than as scheduled (which, I believe, is 5.30pm, though my sources may be wrong) as these people live in different time zones. Fret not! We are always prepared for the infamous "Malaysian Timing" and had plenty more time to prepare for the event. Although, as it turns out, the turn out (excuse the pun) was not so fantastic. Buttttt, we had enough energy to "set this partay on FIRE!" so to speak.

The event opened with a solid performance by the talented duo, Lucian Perera and Julio Singho, who I believe call themselves "The Flowers". The latter, I must say, dressed up in a suit, aviator glasses, fedora, bears an uncanny resemblence to Michael Jackson himself, minus the nose. They performed a couple of hits from Jackson before leaving the stage to much applause. Bravo!

Next, the Backside Boys/Pussycat Balls/Le Penetration/Jackson 5 Incarnation maybe? took the stage to perform.....whadda ya know, Jackson 5 hits! Oh annnnddd "You are not alone" with lead singer/Nicole Shezinger, Jude Ashvin. With musical accompanyment of Adam and Vishnu. Their performance was overall, good. I'd like to take a moment to also talk about the food, which was....nothing short of delightful. The White House did not give a wide variety this time but nonetheless it was good finger food.

And what would a Michael Jackson Tribute be without some dancing? Our very own Prez did his thing, dancing to some of Michael's well known tunes such as "Thriller". He managed to pull in members of the audience to dance along "reluctantly" (I know you enjoy the attention, I'm on to you!). One in particular, Raj (that's his name if I'm not mistaken, holla!) ripped the dance floor apart with his smooth moves and cool Jackson impersonations. I give you props dude, whoever you are! And of course as mentioned earlier, Mr Hakim danced, as well as other members of the audience. The audience was well entertained and enjoyed the whole performance. Just a sidenote: Soundsystem was awesome =)

Then, there was an impromptu dance off. Unfortunately, at this point I had rushed off to the toilet and missed part of it but manage to catch Hakim, Julio, Raj and Noah dancing. And the winner was...................RAJ!!! Go figure ;)

After this, a few videos of MJ were screened while audience members were free to grab a snack/drink and take photographs. Following this, a series of impromptu performances happened. The first being a touching, heartwrenching performance by Jenn Chen, which brought tears to many eyes... me, almost included. Does goosebumps count? After that, my recollections are slightly shady but I believed Lucian's dad gave us some good ol' country as well as a cool Malaysian number sang beautifully by the lovely Angelina Channis, and finally a medley by Julio, Vishnu (the beatboxer), Jude and Lucian which included a blues number, a Rihanna hit and a JoBro (yuck!) lovesong.

I may have missed out a few details..... but I think I pretty much covered all the main points. Of course, photos. Tons of photos will be included with this post.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot one thing. During the course of the tribute, people were able to sign wishes and condolences on an MJ banner, which will be sent to Neverland Ranch! And of course, there was a moment of silence to acknowledge the passing of a true legend

Although an overdued tribute, it was a meaningful and heartwarming experiece to be able to share with fellow collegiates. The dream of the great King of Pop was fulfilled on that night; to bring people together through celebration, dance and of course, music.

A Gist of the event.... in my own words!
Saturday morning was a bleak weather, I'd tell you... because i was in college doing my Instituitional TOEFL in the morning. i was praying so hard that it is better to rain now than to rain in the evening... but Malaysian weather is becoming unpredictable these days.... anyway....

The scorching after-the-rain-sun was shining so brightly at 3pm where all the members gathered at the pool area to do the set up... we have to thank Mr. Beau Bristow along with Candice and a few more of Mr. Beau's Entourage (HAHA) helped us with the setting up. the weather seemed fine when grey skies started looming over after the set up... BUT nevertheless, the rain rained for a little while and it was all good to partayyy!!!

The scheduled time was pushed back from 6.30pm to 7.30pm due to a few perfomances that suddenly pulled out last minute... and we had to rearrange the schedule! but then again, there were so many people at the event, AND THE WHITE HOUSE thanks everyone who help voice out the event...to their friends and this also goes out to the Head of Dentistry! (Sorry i forgotten your name....>.< EvilJC is ALWAYS BLUR) Now, he's a sporting fella i'd tell you, he actually participated... Not to be forgoten, UIU Representative Officer, Mr. Leighton Buntain, Mr. Chase Miles (in short pants and a t-shirt who is waiting to get pushed into the swimming pool...but failed), SEGi Subang's Fayette House representatives, two of you.... (i'm sorry again, i cannot remember names! sometimes faces!... SHORT TERM MEMORY...), Stanley and Co (The Sound Dude), our appointed "Chinese" cameraman, Mr. Justin Ong(there's a story to it), The House of Fayette members, and lastly but not least the new and old members of The White House! KUDOS TO ALL! -if i have forgotten anyone's name, please let me know... -

The crowd went crazy, the food sale was awesome, the drinks were gone and we had to run out to get more! it was a scene not to be forgotten and the final performance was an impromptu act with Le Penetrazione (Sandesh, Afifi, Jude, Jerome, Lucian) + Insignificant Buggers - together they did a duet to a song to which i have no idea what.... >.<

The event itself was a blast, thanks to all the performances that went well, the music was great, the crowd was great and the sound system was great! the dance floor which was open to public, had great tunes and everyone danced to it till about the time everyone decided to get "nasty in a good way" and started pulling random people into the pool (me for instance...had a few victims accounted for! MUAhAHAHAHA!!!)

Hey DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT FAT People are HARDER TO KIDNAP!! LOL!

My poor, poor and wet victims were my fellow emcee partner, Nurul Syaqinah, Syaqinah, Candice, Beau Bristow, HOF Creative Head- Huda, a random female whom i helped throw... hahah... GEE i cannot seem to remember... Oh wait, My PR Crew, Wai May (almost, but was saved by Prince Charming... dratz) and....i think that was about it. Me of course, was pushed into the pool about 5 times? lost count... those who pushed me... i shall take revenge on you next time!

This event turned out great, and we have to thank our cameraman for taking great pictures! which will be uploaded soon. Stay tuned for more updates!!

Hoorahhh... it's time to celebrate!!! the food sale week is over and we have to thank everyone for their support. All goes out to the Students (ADPians/Non-ADPians) who bought food & Drinks from us and not to forget Dr.Sharon, Ms. Jenny, Mr. Chase Miles, Ms. Pauline Oh, Pn Zuraidah, Ms. Samantha & a few more lecturers and administration staffs who bought food from our "moving-stall!!!" (sorry anonymous lecturers... we went into your classes and made a spontaneous sale... forgot to ask for your names! Sorryy!)

White House members, Thank YOU for supporting your own association/society. It shows to say that you are all loyal members for The White House! Thank You. Arigatou. Kamsahamnida. Gracie! Toh-Chie-eh! LOL. okkkkkk... ignore me (the writer of this post!)
